Medical Administrative Assistant

Working closely with managers, payer representatives, and physician offices, the Medical Administrative Assistant will be responsible for assuring that the administrative terms of the contract are handled in an efficient and timely manner.
Develop a professional relationship with member physician office and managed care payer personnel.
Coordinate selected registration, scheduling, faxing, billing and reporting for contracts. (Maintaining logs, faxing, billing and reports and bills, scheduling appointments with physician's offices, verifying information, entering data, generating reports, etc.)
Work with Case Managers to assure that information and expectations are communicated in an effective manner.
Develop and maintain medical records to assure that all information is received, recorded and filed in the appropriate manner.
Entering and maintaining information, medical services, claims, and payments.
Preparing daily action logs for appropriate follow-up by Case Managers.
All other duties as required.
High School Diploma or GED Required
Pleasant, professional demeanor: articulate customer service individual.
Computer literacy required: Windows, Microsoft Word, Database (Setup files)
Medical office experience
Knowledge of CPT-4/ICD coding.
General knowledge of the medical environment: managed care benefit plans eligibility requirements, etc.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
